I got a random email from this person who owns or works for an undisclosed promo code site I won’t mention because I don’t want to give him any link juice or visitors to his website anymore than I already have. He asked me to post a mother’s day info-graphic for compensation of a $30 amazon gift card code. I told him to send it over, then I will post because first, I don’t know this person, never seen their website before, and 2, bloggers don’t work for free, so in order for me to not get burned by these types of situations I ask for it upfront before I do any post for anyone. He kept on saying, I post first, then he will pay. I said fine and just did it because I had things I wanted to purchase on Amazon anyways, so why not get a discount off my total? I posted, gave him the link, and he replies asking where to send the payment to, my email or other? I said you can send it to my email with a smiley face emoticon. He replies back, sorry, I don’t want to work with you anymore because I don’t like your attitude.
This is exactly why you get compensation before you agree to anything folks. I deleted the post, but that doesn’t mean that a few people didn’t already jump on over to his lame ass website. So if you get an email from email@example.com, just know that he will not PAY, so don’t agree to post anything first until he does.
