175th Anniversary of the Oregon Trail: Mt. Hood Area

175th Anniversary of the Oregon Trail: Mt. Hood Area

Remember back in the day when the highlight of the elementary school day was playing the Oregon Trail game?

I didn’t really understand that piece of history at that age. It wasn’t until I reached 30 that I had more of an appreciation for history, especially local history like the Oregon Trail.

This last weekend we were invited to meet up with modern-day pioneers who shared a little bit of backstory with us about the pioneers who settled here in the Mt. Hood Oregon area for the Oregon Trail’s 175th anniversary.

I wrote a similar post a few months ago about how my daughter is a picky eater. I know it’s normal for this stage in her life, but it can be frustrating, to say the least. She will go from liking her usual favorites of chicken nuggets, mac & cheese, French fries, clam chowder, sausage, hash browns and waffles to not wanting to eat any of them at all. Don’t even get me started on vegetables; I must sneak those into blended smoothies since she knows what vegetables are and what they look like by texture and colors. That doesn’t mean she’s tried any of them, she just assumes that all vegetables are gross.

No, I am not even joking.

As you know, if you read my other post and or see my Instagram photos, I just had my daughter 3 weeks ago. And when you have children, nothing ever goes back the same way it was before, and that includes your bladder control. I literally stood up in the hospital after giving birth, started to pee and didn’t even have the urge; it just all came pouring out at once and I felt so embarrassed since I didn’t think it was normal, but, it turns out that it really was normal. I later learned that having an epidural can make it drastically worse since you just feel numb in that area.

There’s Nothing a Vitamix Blender Can’t Handle

The Vitamix E310 may be a budget model without all of the bells and whistles, but it can still blend up and create some pretty great things like; body butter, bread, salsa, nut butters, soups, smoothies and much more.

The Birth Story of Delilah

The Birth Story of Delilah

A few weeks before Delilah was born, we decided to do a cervix check. My OBGYN said I was at 4cm and 80% effaced, so I was walking around like that for who knows how long before that. My doctor was sure I wouldn’t be in labor long and would be having her soon, but, I knew to take what she said with a grain of salt since she said the same thing when I was pregnant with Arya, and dilation isn’t really an indicator of labor progression. Basically, you can walk around like that for months.
