Everyone loves LEGOs, including my 3 nieces who raid my under stair cupboard where I store the LEGOs for their enjoyment when they come over. They would much rather play with the LEGOs than visit with their auntie, but who can blame them? They’re tons of fun and allow your imagination to run wild. I even bought them their very own set for home, but do you think they want to play with them there? Nope. I’m the cool auntie who helps them build princess towers, tunnels, cars, and now greeting cards, so I guess in a way, they do like visiting me; unfortunately just for my LEGO building skills though.
This holiday season, LEGO has created an online experience called “Minifigure Family”, which enables you to create your own custom LEGO Minifigure holiday card. This is a creative way of changing up the traditional and sometimes “drab” holiday card.
Each member of your LEGO Minifigure Family can be customized to have a certain skin tone, show facial expressions, wear outfits and more. You can even set your ideal background scenery. Once you’ve got your family Minifig-ed out, you can share the holiday card with your friends and family via Twitter, Facebook, etc.
I decided to make one of just my nieces since they’ll probably get a kick out of being LEGO’fied. I’m going to print it out on stock paper so they can have a copy for themselves to enjoy. I even added baby Aislin who appeared as a pink baby carriage. LOL I also added a cat; they didn’t have more color options to match my cat that they love to chase and pet, so I left her as gray.
The online experience is user friendly and intuitive, so your kids should no problem in creating their very own LEGO Minifigure Family. They might even put you in a clown suit, but at least they’ll have a blast doing it!
