I will sometimes use no conditioner towards my roots just to give me a few extra hours of non oily scalp, which does help but not enough to make me completely satisfied with my hair. I pretty much have to stock up on dry shampoos because I can’t be washing and styling my hair every day with harsh heat as I’m trying to keep it as healthy as possible. One of the dry shampoos that I have is the Satin Sugar Hair & Body Powder in both light and dark hair hues since I have a strawberry blonde type of hair color. I find that the light one is made more for blondes, otherwise it leaves a very white powdery look to my hair, like I suddenly aged and got grey at the blink of an eye. The dark one, however, leaves a dark residue on my scalp if I don’t rub it in good, and I mean REALLY good. It does work though and gives plenty of body to your oily scalp as long as it hasn’t been completely soaked with oil for a good couple days. If it’s been within a day of washing, it should work as intended. But if not, it will look as though you’re trying to hide your dirty hair, because not only will it be still stringy and greasy, but you’ll have the powdery residue left in your hair, which kind of defeats the purpose as you’ll instantly have to watch it. Usually I don’t go more than a couple days without washing my hair because I can’t stand it, but I don’t know if I will continue to use this on my scalp as I don’t like the aftermath of the powder on my scalp. I will probably just use Suave’s cheap dry shampoo even though it goes really fast, especially you have hair down to the middle of your back like myself, but hey, at least it works!
