Week 27 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Blogger Program

I am a little disappointed that I don’t get to go on a hike this week since my boyfriend is on call, so no pretty pictures of my hiking accomplishments. Instead of hiking though, I am sweating through getting my butt on the elliptical like I should be when I can’t get out and do a day hike, which brought me back down to where I’ve been for what seems like the last month at 196lbs. I’m happy with that number as long as I don’t have to see the dreaded 200s on the scale again!
Nutrisystem is going well and I’m slowly but surely trying to eat all 3 meals every day without cheating. But it’s so hard to resist good food when it’s summer. The fair is coming up, but I know now that I cannot gorge upon those disgusting deep fried treats or my butt won’t look as good when I’m through. I just think happy, skinny, tight body thoughts and it usually works when my brain is telling me to go get a delicious peanut butter, chocolate milkshake.
It’s all about mind over matter. I can do this!

Week 26 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program!

This week, I stopped at the bar and had some tacos for Taco Tuesday and a couple of margaritas. Bad idea, because they were salty as hell and caused me to bloat and go up 2 pounds the next day. EEK! This is why you should eat Nutrisystem food before you head to some place like that, because then you’re full and don’t want to eat nothing else. But, sometimes I feel like I deserve a cheat day.

When my sister visited last week, she was sick, which resulted in me catching what she had. I haven taken Vitamin C, multivitamins, NyQuil, cough drops and nothing is kicking this virus’ ass!

Even though I was completely feeling like crap with a nasal drip and a sore, phlegmy cough, my boyfriend wanted to do a day hike and I obliged. I wanted to choose something that was rated easy and wasn’t that many miles because I didn’t know how much I could actually do feeling the way I did and didn’t want to over exert myself in the process. So we head out to the same area where Multnomah Falls was, but just a little bit further and do the Upper McCord Creek Twin Falls. Only this time, we started off on the wrong, steep, longer path for about 1.5 miles. I mentioned to him that this must be wrong because we should already be there. So we had back to the beginning and break off onto the other trail, which ended up being right. After 1.25 miles up that way, we finally reached the top. The fairy falls wasn’t as pretty as Multnomah, but still we had never done the hike and are willing to experience and see what all nature has to offer regardless. So all in all, we probably did about 4.5 miles that day, which is not what I wanted to do, but I made it and did it even though I was sick.

The other side was supposed to have water, but maybe wrong time of year.

Week 25 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program!

Full view of Multnomah Falls.

This week, my sister came up since she missed my birthday and we decided to do a family BBQ, which actually turned out somewhat decent with only one dramatic altercation. IF you knew my family, you would know that this is a miracle. But, I did cheat by indulging myself in pasta salad, potato salad, a turkey burger, and some good ol’ corn on the cob fresh out of the garden and cooked on the grill! So as you can see, I was off my Nutrisystem diet for that day, maybe even for half the week. OOPSIE! Summer is my weakness because of BBQ season. I just can’t help myself.

At the top, where there were small waterfall run-offs.

The following day, my sister, her fiance, our youngest sister and myself decided to do an impromptu hike up Multnomah Falls. Now the last time I did this hike, I was 25 pounds heavier and at the half way point I couldn’t make it up anymore cause I was constantly trying to catch my breath. Well, that was not me this time! I simply had no problems and was full of energy since my sister made me a delicious fruit juice drink from her juicer that morning. My sister, however, was me from my last experience. She had to stop quite a bit, but she recovered and pushed herself all the way to the top for which I am  proud. She really wanted to give up, but we knew she could do it if she just kept at it and that she did.

The very. very top/ Start of the fall.

Week 24 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Blogger Program

Summer has finally started to emerge here and I must say that working out upstairs in a room without air conditioning is quite dreadful. However, you do sweat more than usual, so I guess that is a plus.

This week, I am going to talk more about the Nutrisystem food, in particular what my favorite and least favorite meal currently is.

Favorite this week: I must say, the chicken and pasta in caccitore sauce is heavenly, but I am somewhat partial to tomatoes. It has a great flavor and the right amount of meat, noodles and sauce. I could probably eat 2 in one sitting it’s that good.

This combination of tender chicken, onions, tomatoes, black olives and spices is sure to tempt your taste buds. We’ve added jalapeño peppers for extra flavor.”

Not So Great: The caramel sundae. To me it has this artificial sweetener after taste and the texture is a bit off for ice cream. You can totally tell you’re eating something “diety” with this one, and the taste to me is wayyy too sweet. It looks like they may have gotten rid of this one since I no longer see it as a menu option, which is probably a good thing.
Can’t wait to place a new order to see if I can try some new menu items I spotted, like chocolate cheesecake. OMG CHEESECAKE! I hope it tastes as good as the real thing.

My Video Card Wants My Soul

I have been having the worst couple of weeks ever.

A couple months ago, I decided I needed to order a video card, more specifically the hot beast EVGA Nvidia GTX 480 since my 4850 was locking up on me during game play. I went with that one because it was the best bang for the buck; $210 to be exact. Normally I am cheap, but you cannot be cheap in the gaming world or it will greatly hinder your experience. I would have wanted to purchase a $50 dollar one if I didn’t know a thing about computers. I researched, ordered, and everything was running fine for those 2 months until last week. My computer was crashing, not to the blue screen of death, but to the black. I imagine that is somewhat worse, or maybe it’s the opposite? Either way, it pissed me off because it was doing it every time I would boot my PC up with it only running for 10 minutes. I was not doing anything to cause it to overheat, but I figured that was the issue as all the reviews say this thing is and will run HOT. Before I did anything with it, I decided I should probably do a clean install of Windows 7, because of the frequent crashes. You never know when you get a random virus or spyware on your system, which can corrupt it. Everything was working fine, then the following day; reboot.

SHIT!!

I looked in the event viewer under administration and found that I was having AMD Northbridge errors, which from my understanding points to the motherboard. Was this thing cooking my motherboard? I figured, maybe I needed to update my power supply wattage, so I ordered a new one. Installed it, booted it up and same thing. THE FUCK DOES THIS THING WANT, MY SOUL? My boyfriend then reseated what he could and that did not work. Then I told him to take it out and put the old video card back in, and wa-la it is now working. I have had one crash in the last 3 days, which comparatively, is heaven to the reboot hell I WAS going through.

I contacted EVGA tech support and they’re sending me another one, which I am hoping will not give me the same issues. But now, I am afraid I must spend more money to replace my motherboard that this fucker apparently sucked the life from. Might as well replace the CPU while I’m at it, but that cost money, which I don’t currently have because I have been having to buy computer shit, dresser shit, and every day shit. Thankfully my boyfriend just ordered a cpu and motherboard for his PC so that I can use what he currently has now until I can afford to replace it. I am probably looking at close to $400 bucks.

Ahh, the life of a PC gamer.

Then to top off my extremely shitty week, school started back up and I thought the 2 classes that I had left would not be overwhelming. WRONG! I have to type up 55 clinic notes a week. If I’m lucky I can get 11 done each day and not have to worry about it on the weekends. The fact that these doctors talk so insanely fast, have shitty tech recorders, or are foreigners makes me want to stab myself in the ears. It prolongs the process for me to get my homework/job done. Sometimes 11 clinic notes can take all damn day, especially if you’re new in the field like myself.

Yes, I am full of complaints today, but I think I have earned it.
