Avoid Plastic Water Bottles and Live #BetterWithBrita

This post is sponsored by Brita, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
Even though Earth Day has come and passed this year, I still try to make it a point to do something that makes our lives cleaner and ends up leaving less of a footprint here on earth.
Sometimes convenience gets in the way when we’re on the go, but we do try to avoid one of the biggest sources of plastic waste, you guessed it… water bottles.

How to Stop the Overnight Diaper Leaks for Good

How to Stop the Overnight Diaper Leaks for Good

“This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of
Sposie Booster Pads, the number one brand in diaper doublers. All opinions are entirely
my own.”

Your little one is finally sleeping peacefully at night and the last thing you want to do is disturb them for a middle of the night diaper change. That is unless, they wake you up crying because they’ve soaked through their diapers, clothes, or bedding.

I don’t know how many diaper leaks I’ve dealt with from my toddler and now 11-month-old baby. It’s honestly too many to even comprehend at this point.

After dealing with our kids constantly waking up wet, which meant constant sheet washing, we needed to find a resolution for our parenting woes because this mama is tired over here!

6 Natural Remedies to Help With Morning Sickness

6 Natural Remedies to Help With Morning Sickness

For all 3 pregnancies, I’ve experienced nausea which usually lasts until around 16 weeks; at least for me anyways. And we all know nausea is not ideal. I honestly would rather throw up and get it over with than to feel sick all day taking care of a toddler. But, trying to find natural remedies to help with morning sickness is no small feat since sometimes there’s just no easy cure-all for everyone.

Here are 6 natural remedies to help with morning sickness or what I like to call “all day sickness”

Why I Declined the Vitamin K Shot at Birth

Why I Declined the Vitamin K Shot at Birth

This is one of those controversial posts no one likes to talk about but I think it’s important. Everyone wants to believe that their doctors have their best interest when it comes to their child’s health and well-being. But, that doesn’t always mean they’ve done the research beyond their standard practice. Now that I have 2 kids, I am constantly researching and trying to make the best choices for me and my family.

I knew when I gave birth to my daughters that I was going to decline the Vitamin K shot because it’s 20,000 times more than what babies need and it can cause all sorts of problems for infections to occur. I got a shit ton of flack by the nurses when I told them I wasn’t doing the vitamin k shot; they were acting like I was committing child abuse. I finally had to tell them I would do the oral vitamin k shot with our pediatrician. They said, by the time I visit the pediatrician (because they don’t do the oral vitamin k at the hospital), she would no longer need it. Well, then I guess she is going without. Yes, I believe there may be instances where a newborn may need it if there are bleeding issues, but my daughter was completely healthy and normal with no visible signs of trauma after coming out of the birth canal unassisted. My mind may have changed IF there were issues, but there were not. I also believe the body is capable of doing what God intended it to do. The body is a powerful thing that can heal itself.

5 Things to Do in the Depoe Bay, Oregon, and Surrounding Areas

5 Things to Do in the Depoe Bay, Oregon, and Surrounding Areas

Before baby girl #2 arrived, I wanted to take a beach trip with just the 3 of us as a mini vacation because once she actually does arrive, we probably won’t be doing too much of anything, which seems to be the norm when you become a parent.

We set out our sights on Depoe Bay, Oregon area since we always head to Seaside, Oregon for it’s close proximity to us. Depoe Bay is a nice area and there’s plenty to do and see, even if you have to drive a little way north or south depending on preferences of activities.

We ended up staying the weekend at the Clarion Inn Surfrider Resort because you literally have the best view of the ocean as the hotel sits on a cliff. I was planning on taking some maternity photos on Fogarty beach, so the Surfrider Resort was the perfect spot to wind down for the night!
