The Best Fall Sandwich: Turkey & Cranberry Grilled Cheese!

The Best Fall Sandwich: Turkey & Cranberry Grilled Cheese!

I’m a big sandwich eater come lunch time, which makes coming up with something new and tasty an absolute must to satisfy these taste buds!

I decided to try (not sure why I hadn’t before) a turkey and cranberry grilled cheese sandwich using Joan of Arc’s tasty goat cheese. I had a weird craving for Thanksgiving dinner even though it’s not here yet for another couple of weeks, and this did just the trick!

If you need a good cranberry recipe, follow this one, or if you’re strapped for some time, buy store bought in a can. It won’t taste nearly as good though!

Cranberries:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 12-ounces fresh cranberries (frozen may be substituted)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Bring to sugar, water and orange juice to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add cranberries and cinnamon. Bring to a simmer and cook stirring occasionally for about 10-15 minutes, until sauce thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Once your cranberry sauce is finished, choose your favorite type of bread; I used Dave’s Killer bread with honey oats and flax.

The great thing about this recipe is you can use leftovers from Holiday dinners or use your favorite deli turkey lunch meat. I used the latter since I haven’t cooked a turkey yet, but I will definitely be making this again after we smoke our turkey on the Traeger this year!

Butter the outside of your bread, then spread some of the Joan of Arc goat cheese on the inside, then top with the cranberries and turkey. Make it the way you’d like!

The Joan of Arc traditional goat cheese is smooth and creamy and has a hint of tart flavor, which makes this sandwich both sweet and savory with the added cranberry topping. It’s mouth-watering delicious and a must-try for anyone who loves fall foods.

Exceptional quality and flavor make the Joan of Arc® brand the recognized leader in the United States and Europe for the finest bries and other French favorites. Joan of Arc® brand brie is the oldest trademarked French brie in the United States and has been imported since 1918. Decades of tradition have produced a full line of French cheeses that are recognized by cheesemongers and discriminating cheese shop owners alike.

You’ll never want to make a sandwich any other way again!

Honestly, I am very picky about my cranberry sauce. I made the best kind I had ever made thise year. Although that mixed with melted cheese does sound delicious.
