To Shit or Not to Shit in the Neighbors Yard

With Spring finally here after some weird and awkward weather, I have been wanting to get some new flowers planted in the divider that my boyfriend fixed up when we totally re-did the yard last year. More specifically some hot pink daisies since the petunia’s got out of control.

I was out pulling weeds on Saturday since it was actually sunny with clear skies and the neighbor came out and told me I don’t have to do that since they pretty much did that already when they decided to take it upon themselves and pull all of our flowers out of the bed. We were pretty pissed off about that, but what can you do once it’s done? I just laughed and continued on to what I was doing and then he says, my wife and I were wanting to plant trees/bushes there to add privacy since it’s ours right? I said, technically it’s both of ours since it’s a divider of both of our yards. He mentioned that when he asked the landlord, that he had no idea who’s it was. Well first of all, there is no landlord if you bought the house, since you’re not a renter and 2nd it is bank owned, so there was definitely no landlord. I’m not sure if he’s just retarded or he thinks I am retarded. I can’t for the life of me remember what it was that he said the tree was called, but I already don’t like that idea since it’s too small of an area for one, and two, the tree roots could come up and effect our yard or brick lining.
Our nice yard. We added in that plastic liner on their side.

If I were them, I would worry about fixing up their yard since it’s full of weeds, and not what goes in the middle of our nice yard, which we actually put there. I figure since we let the neighbors that are connected to our townhouse plant flowers in-between both driveways, that the one that we created for our yard should be just that, ours. But, since the neighbors bought that house, they are I guess “entitled” just as much as we are. How do you compromise on issues like this? Someone suggested that we plant the flowers underneath the trees so that they sprout up with them, but I don’t want trees there period. I mean, how much privacy can you have in a front yard anyways with little trees or bushes? Then someone suggested that I kill their trees and shit in their yard. I am all for that idea, but that wouldn’t solve anything and would lead to future issues with the new neighbors.

I shouldn’t let something like this irritate me as much as I let it, but after you seen someone spend countless hours fixing and maintaining the yard to its degree and then have someone come in and try to take over, you get kind of annoyed.
Fix your yard before you try butting in and trying to fix what was originally maintained by us, that’s all I ask.

Cool Recipe Friday: Orange Peel Jello-Shots

I think I am going to start doing a neat recipe to share with all of you on Fridays, when days are slow or unproductive for me. This one I found on Facebook by friends and I plan on making this the next time we have a shindig or are invited to one. Unfortunately, it’s going to take a lot of orange killing to provide such beauty, but I can always bag the remains and stick them in the freezer and eat at a later date.

Orange Peel Jello-Shots: Cut an orange in half and gut it. Mix the jello shot (1 cup of hot water, 1 box of jello and 1 cup of liquor of your choice [e.g. rum, vodka, gin, whiskey]) and stir until dissolved. Then add the jello mix to the half-shell and refrigerate for 3 or more hours. Once solid, slice and serve!

Repeat this process for each orange.

Week 10 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Blogger Program: 20lbs Down!

Today is week 10 on Nutrisystem and I must inform anyone who wants to get started on Nutrisystem that you may have digestive issues. Half of the meals are dehydrated, and my stomach has finally toned down on the gas and the really bad bowel movements that were extremely painful. I am not sure if it’s because of the food or if it was something else but it lasted about a month. I think I have finally gotten used to consuming the food, so everything is in good working order. Now, just because I have had these issues, does not necessarily mean you will. Everyone’s body is different, but I figured I should probably give a heads up if you wanted to try this as a weight loss resort.

So far I have lost 17.5lbs the past 9 weeks. And this week I am down to 210.8, which brings me to my total of 20lbs lost. I am excited that I have reached 20lbs, I just hope I can get down another 10lbs in the next month!

Week 9 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Blogger Program

I can’t believe 9 weeks have come and gone by already! Where does the time go?
I blame the low .7lb loss on St. Patrick’s Day. I had to go out and celebrate the “let’s go out and get drunk day even if you’re not Irish.” Although I am, so it’s more fun for me. I had quite a few alcohol beverages, so I was surprised I still lost ounces.
Thanks to Nutrisystem, I can go out, have fun, and still lose weight — even if it’s just a little bit.
Every little bit counts towards that higher goal, which is about 23.3 more pounds. Although, I’d like to lose about 10 more after that, so I will continue to push myself towards that extra goal.

Week 8 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Blogger Program

I know a promised good results once I got my elliptical, but that didn’t seem to happen, because I keep going up and down in weight. I am not sure if it’s because I am gaining muscle, and muscle is more dense and compact resulting in a higher weight than fat or if it’s just my weekly go out and have dinner days. I don’t usually order anything that is going to hinder my weight loss, but the scale usually says different. Ultimately, I know what is true and what it isn’t since I am not consuming 4,000 calories a day in order to gain a real pound.

So far, Nutrisystem has been a life saver. I don’t think I would have the willpower and strength to keep doing this if I wasn’t already seeing results. Their easy compact, ready to stick in the oven/microwave meals have made it easier to maintain this lifestyle on a such a busy schedule.

Here’s hoping that next week is better.
