Week 8 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Blogger Program

I know a promised good results once I got my elliptical, but that didn’t seem to happen, because I keep going up and down in weight. I am not sure if it’s because I am gaining muscle, and muscle is more dense and compact resulting in a higher weight than fat or if it’s just my weekly go out and have dinner days. I don’t usually order anything that is going to hinder my weight loss, but the scale usually says different. Ultimately, I know what is true and what it isn’t since I am not consuming 4,000 calories a day in order to gain a real pound.

So far, Nutrisystem has been a life saver. I don’t think I would have the willpower and strength to keep doing this if I wasn’t already seeing results. Their easy compact, ready to stick in the oven/microwave meals have made it easier to maintain this lifestyle on a such a busy schedule.

Here’s hoping that next week is better.

Week 7 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program – 15.6lb lost!

At the beginning of week 7, I was down to a 16.2 lb loss, but I seem to fluctuate between a lb almost everyday, so I am not really surprised that it ended up being less at 15.6lbs for the week.

The good thing is, I finally found an elliptical at Sports Authority, since I had an extra 20% off coupon on Saturday. Then I noticed that the same exact elliptical we bought was on sale the next day on Amazon for the same price we paid. Was just a funny coincidence that the Schwinn 450 was the deal of the day. And honestly, at $640, it was a steal! It’s the best one that we have found regarding sturdiness, quality, and comfortable stride length without going digital. We did not one that had an auto adjustable incline, since that meant it could break down electronically and we would be screwed. This one is manually adjusted with a handlebar. Not that difficult really.

I just started exercising on it yesterday, so I won’t know if this is going to kick-start my weight loss results with Nutrisystem until next week. I am hoping I lose twice as much, but only time will tell. My calves are pretty sore today, and will probably be worse tomorrow since I hopped on it this morning for 15 minutes. Any longer than that right now, and I feel like I am going to pass out.

Week 6 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program

Week 6 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program

I thought this week I was going to kick some butt in the weight loss department since I was down to 215.2lbs 4 days ago. But apparently my scale decided to be evil/deceiving and put me up like 1.5 lbs the following day. Oh well, I will take any kind of loss, just was wishful that it would be more this week.

I was hoping to incorporate some physical activity this week besides running errands all day, but that didn’t happen. I ended up going to the beach for the weekend through Monday and ended up eating out a couple times. It just happens, since I’m there visiting, I can’t really tag along to go out to eat without actually eating, since you feel really awkward watching them eat. So I had some BBQ ribs and was it tasty. Was a tad bit dry for the price I paid, but that just tells me I need to avoid that restaurant in the future.

On Nutrisystem I notice that you don’t really get too much meat in your meals, and I am a meat eater so I was dying to have some ribs. That’s my only real complaint about Nutrisystem, is that there is more vegetables and sides and not enough meat. heh.

I am thinking about grabbing a comfort cruiser bike for the time being since I cannot seem to find an elliptical in my budget with all the requirements I seek. At least then I can make little trips to the stores and get my cardio in at the same time. Its just this god awful rain gets in the way most of the time during the whole year. Yes, it even rains in the summer. Gotta love the Pacific Northwest.

Week 5 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program

I thought I was going to do horrible this week while on Nutrisystem, since I went out again and had a couple drinks at the bar, along with a chipotle chicken wrap and a side salad. I don’t feel too guilty about this, since I was having a very stressful day dealing with some family issues and needed to get out of the house and not worry about that disaster for at least an hour or two.

Aside from all of that, I also came down with a cold so I wasn’t eating as frequently as I should since I was afraid of my nasal leakage getting into my food. I seriously could not plug or blow my nose enough to stop it from being a pain in my rear-end!

I do have to say though, that so far my favorite lunch/dinner meals have been the Mexican style ones like, Tortilla soup, chicken tacos and the chicken quesadilla. I plop some salsa on top of the last 2 and its delish! I am partial to Mexican food anyways, so this was a no-brainer with me actually digging them.

Next week, I plan on getting out and walking everyday for at least 15 minutes. If it was warmer, I would probably do it longer, but I hate being cold.

I still have not found an elliptical that is crying out to me, so until I start incorporating cardio into my routine, I will continue to see these snail like improvements each week.

On a greater note, some of my pants that were starting to cut into my stomach are now fitting much better and are becoming a little bit baggy. Almost time to buy a size smaller and I cannot wait!

Week 4 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program

This weekend I went on a little trip to the beach to hang out with the fam, and I knew I would be led into temptations of eating unhealthy if I didn’t pack along my Nutrisystem food. We did end up going out to dinner at Sizzler and I made sure I checked over all the calorie information, as well as what I shouldn’t and should stay away from there. Obviously the deep fried onion rings were a no-no at the salad bar area. So I decided to go with the unlimited salad and had everything that I could remotely think of as being healthy with about 2 tablespoons of ranch. For some reason they did not have light anything. I also ended up having grilled vegetables along with 1 Malibu chicken. Normally I would have ordered 2 before this diet, but I knew I needed to continuously control my portions in order to see results, plus, 1 of them was about 330 calories, so I figure adding in the salad and vegetables I am probably pushing around 500 or a little more for dinner. This was acceptable to me and was a much better option than putting in over a thousand calories a meal from a fast food restaurant. Have you seen their new menus with the calories listed beside them? Wow, that was a real eye opener for me. Now I know why I have gained 40lbs over the last 6 years.
The next day, we were all out shopping at the outlet mall and got a bit hungry, so we decided on the McMennamins there. I knew they would have options for me to eat without feeling guilty so I went ahead and tagged along. I ended up choosing the half turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, which had purple onions, a slice of Swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce and a little bit of cranberry relish with a side salad. It was delish! I figured after getting home, my scale was going to read that I was a pound or two over, but I was wrong. I woke up to 1.6lbs loss for the week and I am thankful that my dedication to this has changed the way I think about food. I have the willpower to say no to greasy pepperoni pizza, even though it may be cheaper or taste better, but I will not sacrifice my body anymore to indulge in high calorie, bad food.
