Week 3 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Weight Loss Program

Week 3 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Weight Loss Program

I can’t believe it’s been 3 weeks so far while being on Nutrisystem. Seems like the time is flying by fast, but I guess it does that regardless.

This week, I didn’t lose any real weight until I woke up on the scale today and noticed a 1lb drop. The whole entire week, I was only down .4lbs and I was following the meal plans religiously. That was until the Superbowl was on. We had a UFC party the night before, so we had leftover food that surely couldn’t go to waste since my boyfriend can’t eat it all, so I decided to dig in but knew I needed to control my portions. My boyfriend was giving me grief the entire time while I had a couple of appetizer wraps (turkey & ham with lettuce, tomato, cheese and a dab of cream cheese), since they weren’t the Nutrisystem food. I said as long as I learn to not overeat, which this program teaches you, then I should be fine. So I rubbed it in his face this morning when I woke up to a 1lb loss. As long as I keep doing what I am doing, I should be down to my goal weight in 5 or 6 months if I keep averaging over a 1lb a week.

I cannot wait until I start to feel comfortable in my own skin again!

Nutrisystem #NSNation: Week 2

I was on the Nutrisystem forum trying to meet new people, and one person told me not to expect to lose the same amount each week and to not worry if its lower than the previous. Well needless to say, she was correct. This week I have only lost 1.8lbs, and I ask myself, did I already hit a stalling point? Don’t get me wrong, I am happy to have lost anything, but I guess I expected it to be a little more.

I have noticed that my stomach has gotten more used to the smaller meals (which are correctly portioned for weight loss), and I no longer feel hungry throughout the day like I did my first week. This is to the point, where I almost forgot to eat my in-between meals, which I read can cause no weight loss, because you’re not getting the right amount of nutrition to keep your body going and burning those calories. I also slacked a little bit on the water. I was drinking copious amounts last week, so I need to buckle down and start drinking more this time around.

I also had dinner plans with family on Thursday, and we ended up choosing Applebees, because I knew they had meals under 550 calories there. I was good and stuck with my original plan of eating light. I didn’t even order a drink, even though my boyfriend had a couple. I had the determination and willpower to say no to myself, which was kind of difficult.

I am now thinking that I need to incorporate exercise into this program, even though its not necessary in order to lose weight, but even so, I need it in order to build up the muscles in my back, since I seem to have problems with it every so often. So I am on the hunt for a good elliptical since we already have a weight lifting gym out in the garage. Anyone own one that has any recommendations of what is good and what is not?

Nutrisystem #NSNation: Week 1

Nutrisystem #NSNation: Week 1

I have made it through my first week of Nutrisystem and I must say it was rather tough the first 3 days!! I was getting monsterous headaches from adjusting to smaller portioned meals, but so far they have seemed to calm down. It may have partly been due to the fact I was also stressing out this week about school, since it’s pretty much full time work. Either way, I am good!

The first day of eating Nutrisystem, I noticed a huge jump on the scale that resulted in me panicking, trying to search Google or the Nutrisystem forum for an answer in why I gained 4 lbs. I learned that it was pretty much impossible unless I somehow managed to get 16,000 calories down my throat, which was not true since I had ate only 1159 calories for the day. So if you see a significant jump on the scale when you’re trying to lose weight, just know that it’s water weight, and glycogen and you’ll be absolutely fine.

I must say though, that the Nutrisystem meals do not look anything like the photos on the box, but then again, do fast food commercials look anything like what you ordered? Nope. I was willing to tough it out and get through it regardless of what it looked like, but figured I should share that for those who are wanting to get on Nutrisystem like myself.

I was also surprised with how small the portions were, which made me realize how much I was over eating to achieve the feeling of being completely full, sometimes stuffed. They ARE the right portions to control ones weight, which is why I have lost 6.4 pounds this week and I didn’t even do any exercise program. I do however, need to remind myself to add stuff to the meals, so that I am not feeling hungry throughout the day, like for instance, you can have unlimited vegetables, so I made myself a raw spinach salad with grilled zucchinis, tomatoes, green peppers and onions and added a little bit of lemon juice and dill-weed to give it some flavor. I just have to continue to do this and all should be fine.

Overall, I think this week was great, and I hope I continue to see great weeks ahead of me.
