How to Blog With a Baby

If you figure it out, please let me know. Lol.

Yes I know, misleading title but it’s appropriate here since I’m really ever only able to type up a blog post by hitting these little tiny buttons on my galaxy s5. I don’t even know what it’s like to type on a real keyboard anymore since my time is pretty limited.

My husband could be more helpful but anything over an hour or two and he’s upstairs bugging me cause she’s cranky and I’m the only one with boobs.

I swear, I’d like to sneak some hormone pills in his protein shake just so he can experience what a cow feels like.

Don’t get me wrong, you may see me complain a lot about not being able to do much on here, but I honestly wouldn’t trade my time with little babe for the world. She’s getting so big and time is flying by as she just hit the 6 month mark today. I’m pretty happy to have her in my life since she brings calmness and love into my life that I’ve never felt before.

This precious little babe is going to have her parents wrapped around her finger, since that face gets us every time.

Mommy loves you Arya.

My Little Babe is almost 5.5 Months Old

Where has the time gone. It seems just like yesterday I was pregnant and here I am with a big ol baby. She’s still in the 99 percentile for height and weight, which means she’s a big girl; she can even fit in some 12 month clothing – holy poop!

Motherhood is going well. I deal with blow outs, and an otherwise happy, good baby. I honestly couldn’t be more grateful that she’s as good as she is. I have a feeling if we do have another kid, that the next will not be as easy.

Don’t get me wrong, the first 6 weeks are probably the hardest as you adjust to the new parent life as to be expected. But as you familiarize yourself with all the new things you’ve had to adapt to, it starts becoming second nature and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Love my little babe, blow outs and all.

Baby update, it’s been 3 months already!

Wow, where has the time gone? I never expected to be updating this blog as frequently as I had been updating it since having my little one but now I feel like I have no time to myself at all when I’m the one who stays home with her.

So, since she just woke up from her 15 min catnap, I’ll make this quick.

Things are going better with breastfeeding, thank god. I’ll be doing a post on that in the near future if my husband can watch her long enough without coming to me saying she’s hungry cause she’s fussy. 😉

She’s now 3 months old and so BIG. She’s as tall as her cousins who are 4 and 2 months older than her. It’s kind of scary. I get asked how old she is all the time and they assume 5 or 6 months, and I’m like nope, she’s only 3, but this was when she was 2 months. lol

She’s happy and healthy and I love her to pieces, even if she doesn’t let me do anything besides take care of her all day. 😉

Baby Shower Time!

So overall, the baby shower was a success and very pretty. Definitely wasn’t expecting as much as what was done since my friend has been working crazy hours. I told her to just come over and decorate my house since she wanted to throw the party since I knew that our friends would most likely flake and I wasn’t about to fork over a lot of money for pizza when people wouldn’t show up. So we did pasta, potato salad and croissant sandwiches for my family. I left the house while they got it all prepped and ready for me and it was a nice surprise.

I chose the colors basically because it went well with the theme I wanted, mermaid. I figured that would be fitting since my husband sang “kiss the girl” from The Little Mermaid to me when we first started dating. Yep, I remember that shit.

Apparently the Princess diaper cake was in shambles when my friend got it here so my husband and step-dad ended up putting it together just in time with some skewer sticks. That thing was a pain to take apart, so I can’t even imagine what it was like putting it together! LOL

My friend ended up making this lovely paper mobile for me in the colors I like with little seahorses and seashells and pearls. She definitely did it in a way that’s less time consuming than what I did for my sisters Oregon Duck Paper Mobile. She hung the string from the crotchet ring then double sided it with the paper cutouts, smart! Then strung pearl beads in-between each one. If I decide to do one of these, I’ll definitely do it like she did next time.

Not a very good picture but she had some seashells everywhere, little drift wood pieces in the burlap bags, rocks, and she even made my husband a Styrofoam game of thrones chair diaper cake with little trinkets and cards on it. He liked it and that was awesome of her! It doesn’t necessarily go with the theme, but it does go with the name we chose for our daughter, or well, my husband pretty much chose for our daughter. lol Now I just need to convince him to help me clean up our office room so he can start making it into a mans room since its the only room in the house that essentially has all of his crap in it. Well, baby stuff too since we have limited space ATM until we can figure out where to put it all.

We still have a few things we need to get for baby, but we shall in due time since it’s not necessarily a need right now when she’ll be a newborn.

Thanks to my family and Jennifer for celebrating our little babe with us. <3

First Boy in the Family Has Arrived!

My sister was induced last Wednesday and my nephew Braylon has arrived weighing in at 7lbs 14oz, which is about a 1lb bigger than her girls were. Unfortunately though, he’s been in the hospital ever since birth because his bilirubin count was extremely high, so it had the doctors worried during his first 24 hours of life. He’s been in the photo therapy light machine since, but apparently one day they left the top lights off for who knows how long so his levels raised again. He’s 6 days old now, so even though his levels are still what I’d say are high, he’s able to go home for the time being but is still being monitored with blood tests every day. His poor little foot has had enough damage from all the blood draws. I hope and pray that he gets better and that none of this is a cause for concern, but seeing photos of him in this machine is heart wrenching. Poor little fella!

I haven’t gotten a chance to see him in person yet since they live 3 hours away, but I am hoping I get to love on him soon. He needs it after being in this thing for so long.

My sister kind of eased my fears a little bit with her 3rd birth since she ended up getting the epidural for the first time ever. She said she doesn’t know why she never did it with the other 2, because it ended up bringing on great relief which helped with being able to push when the time came. Pitocin is not something you’ll want to endure long without an epidural I heard since it makes contractions 100 times worse. I am just hoping and praying that I do not have to be induced. I don’t want to have to deal with that kind of pain even for a second! She said she never tore either, but I imagine that’s because she’s already birthed twice. Either way, I am hoping that doesn’t happen to me either! LOL wishful thinking.

Here’s to hoping I have a kind and gentle labor and delivery…
