I got the shock of my life this weekend while at the beach. On Saturday, my boyfriend of almost 7 years has finally proposed!! I was in shock for the entire week after because I couldn’t believe after all this time and numerous talks about marriage that he finally had the courage to ask because he truly wanted to “marry” me. He had all the guys lay out pieces of wood out on the beach that spelled out Jenn Marry Me! No question mark I must add. LOL It was cute. I was wondering why he kept whispering to people the entire weekend, now I know why.

I have gone up in weight by a few lbs because this called for a celebration. So unfortunately I didn’t stick to any Nutrisystem meals this weekend, but can you blame me? Now he wants to get married when we go to Vegas in 1 and a half weeks!! AHHHHHH now I’m freaking out since I must find a dress in a short amount of time.

My Boyfriend Proposed!!

This past weekend, we had plans to stay with 5 other couples in this giant house on the beach to celebrate one of the couples vow renewals. The first night getting there, we ended up partying hard. I was forced to play pool with rules of taking a shot every time I scratched or hit another ball that wasn’t my own. And since I am not a pool player, this actually being my like 2nd time playing pool, I sucked hard. My boyfriend put a stop to the shots though since he knew I would get sick if I continued to take shots every time. Mind you, it was only 4 p.m. As you can see, it was going to be a long night! We played some board games, air hockey, foose ball, and ended the night with a jump in the hot tub. 

After about 10 minutes of being in the hot tub, I suddenly get this urge to go run to the toilet. It’s never a good idea to jump into a hot tub after drinking copious amounts of booze. Your body temperature rises from the hot water, as does from the alcohol, causing light-headedness, dizziness, and nausea. I should have known better, but you don’t exactly make smart decisions while intoxicated. I think I was in the bathroom for about 15 minutes before my boyfriend comes in to grab me and put me into bed. I don’t know when all hell broke loose, but I awoke in the bedroom in the middle of the night with instantaneous nausea that induced vomit. I ended up doing it all over the floor, and passed back out.

The following morning, I am feeling like shit and get out of bed, only to step in the vomit-shit that I forgot about last night. I grabbed a towel and started to clean up the chunks, and rubbed the carpet with the towel, which only seemed to make it worse since I ate taco soup that day. Chunks of corn were everywhere! Yes, I know you wanted that image. It still even had a greasy residue. BLECH.

After half-assing the clean up process, we have breakfast and then us girls were supposed to go to the glass blowing place in Lincoln City. I almost did not go because even standing upright made me feel dizzy. I just wanted to sit on the couch and possibly pass the eff out again. I hear the guys saying no, all women must go. So I was like fine. I knew something was up, because my boyfriend would wander off and go randomly whisper to group and I’m just like that’s odd, I wonder what he’s up to. Anyways, I stumble off to the glass blowing place with the rest of the girls and let them do their thing for a couple of hours. One even ended up making me a heart shaped glass piece since I wasn’t up to moving around quickly with a hot, fire poker. Yeah, sounds like fun, but when you’re hungover and nauseous, it’s a nightmare.

We start heading back to the house, my boyfriend is upstairs in the house alone and we’re like where are all the guys cause it was quiet and empty. We thought they ended up going to sleep for a quick nap. Then one of the girls said, “What’s going on outside?” So, of course I immediately head to the big bay windows to look out on the beach with the rest of the girls and I see logs conveniently placed on the beach spelling out some words. I start reading and I am like -oh shit. Then he hurries and rushes to get into place with the ring in his hand and on one knee and asks if I will marry him. Of course I said yes because I have been waiting for this for I don’t know how long. I was in complete shock, and felt like that for the rest of the day. They made me redo the proposal setup since he wasn’t ready when someone blabbed to look out the window, since he wanted it video taped, so that was extra awkward.

I almost felt like he should have done it on his own accord, instead of doing it on someone elses vow renewal weekend celebration, but I’ll take what I can get. Now he says we should get married in 1 1/2 weeks when we go to Vegas. FREAKING THE EFF OUT RIGHT ABOUT NOW!

Looks like I have finally made my goal of 40lbs lost! But I have a feeling that is quickly going to go away considering I have numerous things planned this entire month. First being a beach trip to celebrate our friends vowel renewals. I won’t be eating out a lot, since we’ll be cooking our own meals, but still, I imagine I will go up because I won’t be eating Nutrisystem food. I guess I could bring some of my stuff along, so we’ll see how that goes next week.

It’s probably going to be really rainy and crappy at the coast this weekend, so I am prepared to be staying in most of the time, until we go and do our glass blowing at one of the shops.

Good thing this house is 5000 sq. feet and right on the beach, so we can admire the waves and views!!

I woke up today and stepped on the scale unclothed of course to get the most accurate measurement possible, and I was 192.8!! These last 2.8 lbs have been deterring me away from my 40 lb weight loss goal. Hopefully this next week I can be down 2 lbs so I can finally get my 4th Nutrisystem bear and have met my goal so that I can push myself even harder to reach 50 lbs. Maybe even to 60 lbs, but that might be pushing it. I’m 5’11 and have a large frame, so anything under 170 looks ridiculous. I would have no shape, no bussom or bust and my ideal goal is not to look like a twig, but a woman with curves and a toned body.

Here’s to hoping that next week I meet my goal!

Week 36 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Blogger Program #spon

In my recent order with Nutrisystem, I noticed they stuck a couple new dinner items in my fresh and frozen package, which is always a nice surprise since they pre-determine what you will receive. It was the Chef’s Table Fire Roasted Red Pepper and the Shrimp Alfredo. I of course tried these ones first, since it was a nice and refreshing change from the same things that I have been eating for nearly 10 months.

The Shrimp Alfredo contains broccoli, yellow and orange carrots, penne pasta in an Alfredo sauce, a Parmesan cheese blend and just a hint of sherry. I cooked this in the microwave since it’s in one of those plastic containers, which was probably a bad idea. I should have put it in the oven and done it that way just to see if the result would have been better. I love shrimp, but this shrimp was chewy and not tender at all. Shrimp is a delicate seafood, it needs to be cooked properly and at the right temperature or it can be ruined quickly! The sauce it was in, tasted very watery/runny and was not creamy or rich at all. Granted it’s not going to be as creamy as something you find in an Italian restaurant since we’re trying to avoid the fat content, but I like my sauces to taste good and this just didn’t cut it for me.

The Fire Roasted Red Pepper is a very creative idea that I should have done before I started this diet plan. This one contains shredded beef, rice, and goat cheese, which are all packed inside of the red bell pepper. However, once I cooked it and took it out of it’s package, it fell flat and looked like a pile of mush. Definitely doesn’t look appealing when you go to eat it, but this isn’t chopped or many of those other cooking shows where you get graded on how you style your plate with food. The taste was just okay for me. I really love bell peppers, so I can eat them religiously. I think if this had a unique sauce instead of the usual tomato based sauces Nutrisystem loves to use, and cooked with quinoa instead of long grain rice, I think it would be more appetizing to me.

Other than that, they were great.
