Week 29 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program!

As I mentioned in last weeks post, I was going camping and most of the Nutrisystem food is microwavable that I receive, and obviously that wasn’t going to work. I don’t usually request lunch bars since they’re basically just chocolate, and peanut butter, which to me is not lunch but more of a dessert. So I just never request those in my orders. I did, however, bring along some turkey burgers to have while we were there and I did drink copious amounts of lite beer and clamato juice. I made sure to walk up and down the hill that was in the campground numerous times so that I was getting SOME exercise in. I imagine if I actually played paintball instead of being a wuss that I would have burned a lot of calories, but I have this fear of pain. Mostly because I can bruise at the slightest touch. If that’s possible, I cannot even fathom what it would be like to get hit by a flying, hard paint ball.

The whole time I was concerned about my weight because I was feeling disgustingly huge. We get home and I immediately go step on the scale and it says 200. ACK!!!! How did I gain 6lbs in 2 days!?!? It was that damn clamato I tell you. SO much sodium that I swear it bloated me to as far as I could expand, and caused me to retain water. Over the next couple of days my weight went down to 195.8lbs, almost to where I was but not quite there yet. WHEW!! Then the following Wednesday, my sister wanted me to make an impromptu trip to stay at the beach with them. We went out and had lunch and made dinner and etc at their house a couple times. I only gained a pound according to the scale, so now I’m back up to 196.8, which overall is a 2.8lb gain.. EEK! I hate how easily my hard work can be thrown off track at the drop of a hat.

I am still at least under 200lbs and that’s all I ask for. I wonder if I will ever make my goal weight of 180? I guess only time and perseverance will tell.

Week 28 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program

Since I had been hitting a stalling point for the past month, I decided I needed to go balls to the wall and get exercise in every single day during the weekday and that I did! I set the incline on my elliptical to 50% and worked out on a custom setting for 15 minutes and that jump started my metabolism to kick me down to 194lbs this week. That is a 2lb loss that probably wouldn’t have been attained had I not got off up my butt.

I have camping this weekend, which  means I cannot bring most of my Nutrisystem food so I will probably be indulging in some pretty bad foods.  Plus, you can’t go camping without having smores and drinking beer/booze! My new addiction is red beer (any kind of lite beer with clamato cocktail juice) which is absolutely tasty! The bad thing is, it contains a lot of sodium so I imagine this weekend I will jump in weight because of water gain and bloat.

Yes, I can obviously predict the future. 😉

Week 27 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Blogger Program

I am a little disappointed that I don’t get to go on a hike this week since my boyfriend is on call, so no pretty pictures of my hiking accomplishments. Instead of hiking though, I am sweating through getting my butt on the elliptical like I should be when I can’t get out and do a day hike, which brought me back down to where I’ve been for what seems like the last month at 196lbs. I’m happy with that number as long as I don’t have to see the dreaded 200s on the scale again!
Nutrisystem is going well and I’m slowly but surely trying to eat all 3 meals every day without cheating. But it’s so hard to resist good food when it’s summer. The fair is coming up, but I know now that I cannot gorge upon those disgusting deep fried treats or my butt won’t look as good when I’m through. I just think happy, skinny, tight body thoughts and it usually works when my brain is telling me to go get a delicious peanut butter, chocolate milkshake.
It’s all about mind over matter. I can do this!

Week 26 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program!

This week, I stopped at the bar and had some tacos for Taco Tuesday and a couple of margaritas. Bad idea, because they were salty as hell and caused me to bloat and go up 2 pounds the next day. EEK! This is why you should eat Nutrisystem food before you head to some place like that, because then you’re full and don’t want to eat nothing else. But, sometimes I feel like I deserve a cheat day.

When my sister visited last week, she was sick, which resulted in me catching what she had. I haven taken Vitamin C, multivitamins, NyQuil, cough drops and nothing is kicking this virus’ ass!

Even though I was completely feeling like crap with a nasal drip and a sore, phlegmy cough, my boyfriend wanted to do a day hike and I obliged. I wanted to choose something that was rated easy and wasn’t that many miles because I didn’t know how much I could actually do feeling the way I did and didn’t want to over exert myself in the process. So we head out to the same area where Multnomah Falls was, but just a little bit further and do the Upper McCord Creek Twin Falls. Only this time, we started off on the wrong, steep, longer path for about 1.5 miles. I mentioned to him that this must be wrong because we should already be there. So we had back to the beginning and break off onto the other trail, which ended up being right. After 1.25 miles up that way, we finally reached the top. The fairy falls wasn’t as pretty as Multnomah, but still we had never done the hike and are willing to experience and see what all nature has to offer regardless. So all in all, we probably did about 4.5 miles that day, which is not what I wanted to do, but I made it and did it even though I was sick.

The other side was supposed to have water, but maybe wrong time of year.

Week 25 on Nutrisystem #NSNation Program!

Full view of Multnomah Falls.

This week, my sister came up since she missed my birthday and we decided to do a family BBQ, which actually turned out somewhat decent with only one dramatic altercation. IF you knew my family, you would know that this is a miracle. But, I did cheat by indulging myself in pasta salad, potato salad, a turkey burger, and some good ol’ corn on the cob fresh out of the garden and cooked on the grill! So as you can see, I was off my Nutrisystem diet for that day, maybe even for half the week. OOPSIE! Summer is my weakness because of BBQ season. I just can’t help myself.

At the top, where there were small waterfall run-offs.

The following day, my sister, her fiance, our youngest sister and myself decided to do an impromptu hike up Multnomah Falls. Now the last time I did this hike, I was 25 pounds heavier and at the half way point I couldn’t make it up anymore cause I was constantly trying to catch my breath. Well, that was not me this time! I simply had no problems and was full of energy since my sister made me a delicious fruit juice drink from her juicer that morning. My sister, however, was me from my last experience. She had to stop quite a bit, but she recovered and pushed herself all the way to the top for which I am  proud. She really wanted to give up, but we knew she could do it if she just kept at it and that she did.

The very. very top/ Start of the fall.
