Ozeri Baby Bath Floating Turtle Toy and Bath Tub Thermometer

Ozeri Baby Bath Floating Turtle Toy and Bath Tub Thermometer

Moving my daughter to the big tub, I had concerns about getting the water temp correctly, so I opted for a bath thermometer that looked fun but does the job. This turtle bath thermometer definitely does what it says it does.

I put it in the tub after having the water run for a minute and the LED quickly turned blue and the degrees started to rise and stayed that color all the way to 95 degrees. I figured 90’s would be about right, but little did I know, I was making her bath water a little too cold according to the package details. When the LED screen turns green with the degree, then it’s just right and then it will go to red for too hot.

My daughter loves playing with it too, well more like holding onto it while in the tub and doesn’t let go, not even when we take her out. She loves this thing, may even persuade me to get a real turtle when she’s a little bit older.

So far I haven’t had any battery corroding issues nor LED display issues that some other folks have had, but I shall update if I do!

Ozeri Moderna Artisan Series Double Wall Beverage Glasses Review

Ozeri Moderna Artisan Series Double Wall Beverage Glasses Review

Are you one of those plastic cup collectors because your glasses end up breaking and not lasting more than 6 months? Yeah me too! There’s nothing classy or modern about plastic eatery, so I was looking to upgrade with something a little more stylish and hopefully long lasting. These Ozeri Moderna Artisan Series Double Wall Beverage Glasses on Amazon caught my eye because of their shape and their thick double walls.

Ozeri Moderna Artisan Series Double Wall Beverage Glasses

These glasses come in a set of 4 or 8 and in size 8, 12 and 16 oz. I opted for the 8 and 12 because I knew these were probably going to be a little bit thicker than normal glasses with their double walls, AND because I have very little cupboard space and I was right.

I figured these would be perfect for when we upgrade our house (wishful thinking) and have a man cave with a bar or what have you.

In the photo above, I made a coffee beverage and noticed that it kept the glass cool enough for me to grab onto and hold, which was nice — no burning hand!

You may notice that there are dimples in the glass which were hand blown to help with gripping since these are kind of wide like mentioned above.

I’ve used the 12 oz for bedtime ice water and love that there’s no condensation which leave my coaster hanging on for dear life.

I like the fact that these can also be used in the dishwasher and microwave. I’ve tried the dishwasher already and everything has came out fine and sparkly clean.

Love these glasses, they seem to be very well made.

Did you know right now at Walmart you can feed your baby 60, 4 oz bottles for under $20.00?

Post sponsored by Lunchbox but all opinions are my own.

Now we all know that breast milk is way more nutritious than formula, but that’s not what this post is about… this post is for those that have to either supplement (like myself) or who strictly use formula for whatever reason to find options that fit their budget. There’s no judgement here!

If you’re a first time mom you probably have no clue where to start like myself. I automatically assumed the big name brand formulas were the best option because of just that, “name brand”. But what I didn’t know is that store brand options are essentially the same thing, only they’re a fraction of the cost. So why do we pay more for name brand just because we assume it’s better?

I’m all for giving the store brand options a try. In fact, I just tried Parent’s Choice Formula which is Walmart’s store brand formula and it was only $19.98 for a 35 oz tub of the Advance Stage 2. Something similar in name brand formula would be upwards of $30+ per can! YIKES!

I can get roughly 60, 4 oz bottles out of a container which is great because that’s all she’s drinking at a time with formula anyways and only 3 times a day because we’re supplementing. So 12 oz a day, which is 3 bottles, this would last me about 20 days, so on average I’d be spending about $30 a month on formula. Now, if you only use formula and don’t supplement, then your cost per month is going to be quite a bit higher depending on how much your little one drinks.

Brazi Bites – Love Your Food Review

Brazi Bites – Love Your Food Review

I love supporting local companies, which is why I agreed to share this Brazi Bites post with you all today. BraziBites originally started in Portland, Oregon (right across the bridge from me) in 2009 since they were having a serious craving for Pão de Queijo, Brazil’s most popular snack food. It took until 2010 to come up with their magnificent recipe since the Minas cheese was not readily available in the U.S.

I got a chance to sample all 4 of their Brazi Bites products and I am happy to say they’re delicious; way better than what you’ll get with your pizza order on a Sunday night.

The flavors are Bacon (who doesn’t love bacon? mmm), Jalapeno pepper jack, garlic Asiago and original.

Cooking them was quite simple. The package instructions say to cook on a cookie sheet or parchment paper on a cookie sheet but I opted to use my pizza stone since it’s an all-over type of heat.

You preheat the oven to 400 and cook for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Wa-la, all done!

I decided to a couple of each in my fettuccine Alfredo

I think the one that is most noticeable is the Jalapeno pepper jack of course because you get a hint of spicy which I love, so I’d have to say that one was my favorite, but I definitely loved them all. They have a unique cheesy blend taste that goes well with Alfredo in my opinion. Best of all, anyone that is on a gluten free lifestyle can enjoy these as well. There’s also no GMO’s, no added sugar and no soy!

And now you can find these at the NE Portland Costco location. And they found out they will be airing on ABC’s Shark Tank Friday Nov. 20th.  Be sure to check it out!

We Love the Minbie Glass Bottle

As you all know, I mainly breastfeed, but at night when supply is low I have to supplement with formula in order to satisfy her. We were exclusively using the munchkin latch bottle since birth, but as she got older, she wasn’t really liking it anymore. The only reason we used it was because it was the only bottle that made her open wide enough to get a good latch which overall helped us be successful with breastfeeding. Lactation consultants will tell you not to give a bottle cause it will cause nipple confusion and blah blah blah, but honestly, we had no such issues since she favored the breast overall. Once she reached 3 months, we decided to try out the Minbie bottle. I was hesitant to try it because of it’s weird looking design but we had already established breastfeeding well so I wasn’t too worried on trying it out. Once we used it, she ended up liking it more than the munchkin latch, probably because it mimics the breastfeeding technique.

Using a bottle also gives time for baby and daddy to bond too. (and of course gives mom a little break)

12023203_10153538245075365_693546886_nI do remember at first when we tried using it, no milk would come out and I was thinking to myself that this thing must be plugged… but nope, you really need to use the same breastfeeding technique with this bottle that eventually my little babe got down. I even tried to suck it myself and nothing would come out, but once I used my tongue underneath the teat and put it towards the roof of my mouth, it started to expel which is how babies suck on the nipple.

If your newborn has become used to other bottle-teats, he or she may have difficulty feeding from a Minbie teat. This may be an indication that your baby’s instinctive feeding technique has been damaged.

What’s Minbie Made of & Do They Work With Other Bottles?:

Minbie is made from the highest quality German sourced soft silicone, certified biocompatible.

Minbie is compatible with a number of standard wide-neck baby bottles (49.5 – 50.5mm Outer Diameter). However, due to the constant arrival of new designs on the market, they cannot guarantee fit with other brands. They therefore recommend the use of their own 120ml glass bottle or 180ml bpa-free bottle.

Minbie_Instructions-ai_FA

This bottle does need to be held upright like the instruction booklet shows, otherwise it will leak from the vent area. I know my little one is starting to become hands on and will try to move the bottle all around so if you notice wetness on the bib/clothes after drinking, you’ll know why.

I’d love it if the glass version came in a bigger size, but know that that would possibly hinder my little one from ever being able to hold it correctly since glass is obviously heavier.

Overall, I have no complaints and we’ll use this bottle for however long she’ll allow us to.
