Amazing Essential Oil Roller Blend for The Winter Moody Blues

Amazing Essential Oil Roller Blend for The Winter Moody Blues

Winter blues is no joke. Most people develop mood disorders in late fall and winter months, which often leads to depression.

I’ve just started taking an interest in essential oils last year and I’m finally getting around to buying and using some in more recipes because I like a more holistic approach when it comes to health and well-being.

Because of the lack of sunlight (hello daylight “pointless” saving time..), the end of the year stress from Etsy, and my cat dying, I decided I should make an essential oil rollerball blend to get me out of my moody blues funk.

DIY Natural Kid-Safe Mosquito Repellent

DIY Natural Kid-Safe Mosquito Repellent

Summer may be coming to a halt for some, but mosquitos don’t quite get that memo.

You see, mosquito season is at it’s highest during warmer months starting in spring through fall here, but that doesn’t mean they won’t show up during warm winter days as well. If you live in the everglades, well, I feel for you!

Homeopathic Solutions For the Entire Family

Homeopathic Solutions For the Entire Family

I’ve always been interested in natural treatments since my early 20s. Back then, I had numerous complications that required antibiotics, then the antibiotics caused a side effect that needed another medication, and it was like a never-ending cycle of pharmaceuticals. That’s what made me start researching how to treat ailments naturally with homeopathic medicine. I knew they worked after they alleviated my complications, and that I would continue to use homeopathic medicine on myself and any future children I would come to have.

But what is homeopathic medicine?

It’s officially summer, and we’ve been hit with a mild cold over here, at least, my 1-year-old daughter and I have. Colds are always a downer, especially in the summer when you have a bunch of plans and then one mysteriously pops up right before a trip. Luckily, we’re just staying home this time, but it’s still no fun to have to endure when you’re sick yourself and have to take care of kids who are also sick.

Why I Declined the Vitamin K Shot at Birth

Why I Declined the Vitamin K Shot at Birth

This is one of those controversial posts no one likes to talk about but I think it’s important. Everyone wants to believe that their doctors have their best interest when it comes to their child’s health and well-being. But, that doesn’t always mean they’ve done the research beyond their standard practice. Now that I have 2 kids, I am constantly researching and trying to make the best choices for me and my family.

I knew when I gave birth to my daughters that I was going to decline the Vitamin K shot because it’s 20,000 times more than what babies need and it can cause all sorts of problems for infections to occur. I got a shit ton of flack by the nurses when I told them I wasn’t doing the vitamin k shot; they were acting like I was committing child abuse. I finally had to tell them I would do the oral vitamin k shot with our pediatrician. They said, by the time I visit the pediatrician (because they don’t do the oral vitamin k at the hospital), she would no longer need it. Well, then I guess she is going without. Yes, I believe there may be instances where a newborn may need it if there are bleeding issues, but my daughter was completely healthy and normal with no visible signs of trauma after coming out of the birth canal unassisted. My mind may have changed IF there were issues, but there were not. I also believe the body is capable of doing what God intended it to do. The body is a powerful thing that can heal itself.
