I Choose Members Mark Advantage Infant Formula Over Any Name Brand Formula

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Perrigo, the makers of Members Mark Infant Formula. All opinions are 100% mine.

When trying formula’s for your little one, have you ever noticed a ton of foam after shaking the bottle up? Yeah we have too and it has contributed to some gas which has made for a cranky baby at times.

After trying out Members Mark Advantage Infant Formula, I am happy to say that there is no foam, not even after shaking it religiously. Happy baby, happy mama!

I also taste tested the formula and noticed that it does have a slight sweet taste which babies love. It’s always a good idea to taste things before giving them to baby that way if they don’t like it you’ll possibly know why. She loves the taste and pretty much chugs the entire thing down. If you haven’t ever tasted breast milk, it is sweet too, which is why they like sweet things. This Members Mark Advantage Infant Formula is a familiar taste.

It doesn’t have any funky odors, nor do I notice anything different with her bowel movements which is good. Means she’s doing just fine after switching to Members Mark Advantage Infant Formula.

I also like that Member’s Mark Advantage 1 Infant Formula is clinically proven to support growth and development with it’s unique blend of DHA, Lutein, and Vitamin E. Advantage 1 is designed to be more like breast milk and provides complete nutrition for baby’s first year.

Club members save around $500 when buying Members Infant Formula products compared to Similac and Enfamil. Remember this is just an estimate, but a pretty good estimate that is worth considering.

Ever since my little one was born, I’ve had to supplement, only because she wasn’t getting enough breast milk, which people swear is not true and only hinders your milk production. Honestly, it was a secondary option that I don’t regret because I now have a happy, healthy baby.

At around 1 month, she decided she didn’t want as much formula and we basically just breast fed. I was initially worried that she wasn’t getting what she needed since she cut back on ounces eaten drastically. But we had a 2 month check up with her pediatrician and she was doing great with weight. She has actually been in the 97 percentile for weight ever since her 2 month check up and she is now 6 months old.

We still feed her formula at night when my supply is lower since she’s still hungry. That’s just what works for us and our baby.

The formula we go with now is Members Mark Advantage Infant Formula from Sam’s Club since it has the same nutritional value as Similac Advance and is a fraction of the cost (club members save around $500 buying Members Infant Formula products compared to Similac and Enfamil). I also love the fact that it’s designed to be more like breast milk, so that I know my baby is getting best of both worlds.

I’ve noticed that with some store brands of formula, they tend to be awfully foamy which in turn creates gas in your little ones tummy, but Members Mark Advantage Infant Formula does not have that issue thankfully. But if yours does, my tip to you is to get some baby gas drops and stick a couple drops into your bottle of formula. It will instantly take the foamy bubbles away!

How to Blog With a Baby

If you figure it out, please let me know. Lol.

Yes I know, misleading title but it’s appropriate here since I’m really ever only able to type up a blog post by hitting these little tiny buttons on my galaxy s5. I don’t even know what it’s like to type on a real keyboard anymore since my time is pretty limited.

My husband could be more helpful but anything over an hour or two and he’s upstairs bugging me cause she’s cranky and I’m the only one with boobs.

I swear, I’d like to sneak some hormone pills in his protein shake just so he can experience what a cow feels like.

Don’t get me wrong, you may see me complain a lot about not being able to do much on here, but I honestly wouldn’t trade my time with little babe for the world. She’s getting so big and time is flying by as she just hit the 6 month mark today. I’m pretty happy to have her in my life since she brings calmness and love into my life that I’ve never felt before.

This precious little babe is going to have her parents wrapped around her finger, since that face gets us every time.

Mommy loves you Arya.

My Little Babe is almost 5.5 Months Old

Where has the time gone. It seems just like yesterday I was pregnant and here I am with a big ol baby. She’s still in the 99 percentile for height and weight, which means she’s a big girl; she can even fit in some 12 month clothing – holy poop!

Motherhood is going well. I deal with blow outs, and an otherwise happy, good baby. I honestly couldn’t be more grateful that she’s as good as she is. I have a feeling if we do have another kid, that the next will not be as easy.

Don’t get me wrong, the first 6 weeks are probably the hardest as you adjust to the new parent life as to be expected. But as you familiarize yourself with all the new things you’ve had to adapt to, it starts becoming second nature and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Love my little babe, blow outs and all.

We Love the Minbie Glass Bottle

As you all know, I mainly breastfeed, but at night when supply is low I have to supplement with formula in order to satisfy her. We were exclusively using the munchkin latch bottle since birth, but as she got older, she wasn’t really liking it anymore. The only reason we used it was because it was the only bottle that made her open wide enough to get a good latch which overall helped us be successful with breastfeeding. Lactation consultants will tell you not to give a bottle cause it will cause nipple confusion and blah blah blah, but honestly, we had no such issues since she favored the breast overall. Once she reached 3 months, we decided to try out the Minbie bottle. I was hesitant to try it because of it’s weird looking design but we had already established breastfeeding well so I wasn’t too worried on trying it out. Once we used it, she ended up liking it more than the munchkin latch, probably because it mimics the breastfeeding technique.

Using a bottle also gives time for baby and daddy to bond too. (and of course gives mom a little break)

12023203_10153538245075365_693546886_nI do remember at first when we tried using it, no milk would come out and I was thinking to myself that this thing must be plugged… but nope, you really need to use the same breastfeeding technique with this bottle that eventually my little babe got down. I even tried to suck it myself and nothing would come out, but once I used my tongue underneath the teat and put it towards the roof of my mouth, it started to expel which is how babies suck on the nipple.

If your newborn has become used to other bottle-teats, he or she may have difficulty feeding from a Minbie teat. This may be an indication that your baby’s instinctive feeding technique has been damaged.

What’s Minbie Made of & Do They Work With Other Bottles?:

Minbie is made from the highest quality German sourced soft silicone, certified biocompatible.

Minbie is compatible with a number of standard wide-neck baby bottles (49.5 – 50.5mm Outer Diameter). However, due to the constant arrival of new designs on the market, they cannot guarantee fit with other brands. They therefore recommend the use of their own 120ml glass bottle or 180ml bpa-free bottle.

This bottle does need to be held upright like the instruction booklet shows, otherwise it will leak from the vent area. I know my little one is starting to become hands on and will try to move the bottle all around so if you notice wetness on the bib/clothes after drinking, you’ll know why.

I’d love it if the glass version came in a bigger size, but know that that would possibly hinder my little one from ever being able to hold it correctly since glass is obviously heavier.

Overall, I have no complaints and we’ll use this bottle for however long she’ll allow us to.
