I am always looking for different ways to save, whether be it shopping for clothes, food or things to do in town for special occasions. I truly believe that you don’t need to pay full price in order to get quality products or to have a little fun. That’s why I am always browsing Groupon. They have tons of discounted options for things to do in Portland, Oregon that won’t break the bank.

Things To Do in Portland, Oregon on the cheap

Wine tasting and brewery options are almost always available any time of the year on Groupon in Portland. We’re the brewery capital of the world pretty much. I actually bought one of these Groupon’s for my husband last month since he loves beer and it was at a great price, which included a tasting sample as well as a growler!

Concerts and movies are Groupon things to do as well. Although I don’t get to do these often anymore since having my daughter, Groupon was our go-to for movie discounts at Cinetopia. And every time Cinetopia would pop up, we’d snag the tickets up, because frankly, who can afford $50 at the movie theater per couple with concessions? No thanks!

Theaters and shows for those that like theatrical events. There are plenty of places in Portland to catch a great show at a great venue!

Safaris and Chinese Gardens. I have actually been to the Chinese Garden which is cool to try at least once if you haven’t been already.

Candy Corn Recipes for National Candy Corn Day

Candy Corn Recipes for National Candy Corn Day

Seems like there’s a dedicated day for everything nowadays, am I right!?

And if you’re a big fan of candy corn, then you’re in for some sugary sweet recipes on National Candy Corn Day.

Candy corn is not my fave, but I will try it every now and again. Something about it just makes my teeth pucker and cringe in pain. Oh, that’s right, the amount of sugar that goes into these cone shaped treats.

Candy Corn Donuts

This one may be a little misleading since it doesn’t actually involve any candy corn, but it is made to resemble the candy by using food coloring for the glaze.

Candy Corn Pretzel Hugs

This recipe caught my eye because it involves a salty base, which helps with the overall sweetness of the candy corn and white chocolate. YUM!

Homemade Candy Corn Recipe

Instead of buying store bought candy corn, go give this home made candy corn recipe a try. It’s a lot more vanilla-y compared to store bought, which means it tastes way better! Although, it’s a little bit stickier too.

My mother makes a mean fudge too, I’m going to have to have her try this one out this year… because who doesn’t like fudge, M&M’s and candy corn (in moderation of course)?

7 Simple Fall Decor Ideas!

simple fall decor ideas

Even though summer is my favorite season of the year for vacationing reasons, fall is a close 2nd. There’s just something about the changing of the leaves, the crisp and fresh cold air, fuzzy socks, leggings, and pumpkin spice that make me adore this season. Maybe it’s because it feels like fall here 9 months out of the year.

Born This Way: My Newest Show Addiction

Born This Way: My Newest Show Addiction

I am not going to lie… I was afraid of possibly having a child with down syndrome since it’s the most common form of genetic birth abnormality with the odds being 1 in 700 births. And since I am over the age of 30, those chances are even greater with age.

If it had happened, I honestly wouldn’t know how I’d handle it, or know how I’d make life better for that precious little life whom has an extra chromosome. But after watching Born This Way, my fears have pretty much gone out the window.

If you’re going to watch any reality TV show, watch this docu-series that follows the lives of 7 young adults with down syndrome.  You’ll be laughing, you’ll be crying and you’ll be inspired.

“Don’t Limit Me” the whole premice of the show.

That’s exactly what I probably would have done if I hadn’t watched the show because I just didn’t know any better. I now realize that people with down syndrome can lead healthy, and relatively normal lives.

Every new episode I am cracking up because the cast is not afraid to speak their minds.

Like for instance, John the aspiring rapper was buying a corsage for his date and asked how much they were.

“$20”, said the customer service worker.

His jaw dropped. Do you know how many chicken wings I could buy at KFC with that? He is quite the character, but so are the rest of the cast members.

Go watch it if you have the same fears as I did. You will love it, I promise you.

This is not a sponsored post. I felt so touched by this show, I just had to share.

New Niece Paisley Has Made Her Appearance

New Niece Paisley Has Made Her Appearance

Yup, there’s a new one every couple of months! Ha

She arrived safely on October 5th and is a healthy 8lbs 1oz, which is her biggest yet.

Look at that cute little chunky face.

I was hoping she’d come out looking more like my sister since most of her kids look like their dad, but I guess our genes are not powerful enough since most of our families girls look like their dads.

I cant even remember my baby girl being that little and it was only 17 months ago.

I’ve been contemplating whether I should or shouldn’t have another kid myself. I feel like I have angry post partum. Not so towards my daughter, but my husband. I’m pretty sure it’s still steming from hormones and me not liking him going out often or playing video games while I get to sit at the house with our daughter. I feel like mostly everything has changed for me and nothing has changed for him. He’s toned down a bit since I told him I’m tired of him running off to play video games upstairs when he could be enjoying that time playing with his daughter. All I know is that if things don’t tone down more, I wont be having another baby. And he knows this.

Anyone else ever had angry post partum at their husbands?
